I couldn’t rent my car from Hertz. I used AFFIRM via online to get the rental that way. When I went to hertz counter, they wouldn’t rent me the car. Even though, the car was paid for prior to my pick up via AFFIRM. All they needed was a deposit since car was paid for. Nope, wouldn’t let me even use a debit card for that. I have NEVER had issues with Hertz before and I’ve rented cars via AFFIRM, KLARNA or AFTERPAY. I was so embarrassed. Money is tight for people wanting to rent vehicles and those buy here, pay later accommodations really help. I had to spend $600 of my own money to rent a car through AVIS.Reviewed Aug 26 2024

Hertz did not have the car we reserved. We were forced to take a smaller car which was unsafe given the number of passengers and the luggage. Hertz did not offer any other options. I would not rent from Hertz again. I have heard many similar stories about the company. It used to be good but no longer.Reviewed Jul 10 2024

Pros:Staff at airport corrected the problemCons:I booked a pick up time at a location that was closed. I should not have been allowed to book at that time. Called Hertz and the wouldn’t find me a similar car anywhere near for my family of 6 stranded travelers.Reviewed May 29 2021

Pros:Nothing. There was no car available the entire time we were in Mt Pleasant, Sc from 14 May thru 17 May. I had previously made a confirmed reservation on 4 May and my credit card account had the amount posted already.Cons:Arrangements should have been made when it was evident that no car was available at the appointed time.Reviewed May 19 2021

Pros:Staff was excellent. The manager went out of way to give credit for taxiCons:We booked to drop off at airport but upon arrival they told us they would charge us $250 more to do that. We booked that way so it would be less stressful for us and give us more time to visit the city. However, that did not work out that way. Very deceitful to have a hidden charge almost doubling the cost to rent the car even though it WAS CLEAR ON ALL PAPERWORKReviewed May 19 2021

Pros:Nothing - they didn’t fulfill my reservation.Cons:I reserved a car and when I called to confirm it and ask a payment question, I was told they were overbooked and didn’t have a car for me. They also claimed they try to call me to tell me citing a phone number that wasn’t mine - I never got a call. Hertz shouldn’t confirm fake reservations for people that can’t be fulfilled.Reviewed May 18 2021
