They were able to accomodate a last-minute booking on a busy day. The staff running the car return was friendly and accommodating, especially when I had to return and ask about an item I had forgotten in my rental car. The staff was able to locate and return my item in a timely fashion and were very friendly about the whole ordeal.

Big line up. Computer was down. Only one person was attending and writing all info by hand. Other people were around but not interested in helping customer. Enterprise had 4 people helping customers, Gave me big vehicle (not asked for it) cost me more gas as well high insurance charges.

I rented a car one-way from Calgary airport with a drop off in Banff. I rented the car at about noon and return the car in Banff approx. 7:00pm. I told them I’d be arriving to Banff after they closed at 6:00pm and I was told to put the keys on the drop box. It took me forever to find the parking and when I did find it. I followed the Avis return signs. Once I made about 2 turns down the parking garage, I came to a sign that said the Avis rental car return was closed and to go back up a level. I did this, I found a place to park and went upstairs and dropped the keys in the drop box. I had the car approx. 7 hours total. Today, 4 days later, I got a call from Avis asking if I still had the rental car that was supposed to be returned on the 12th. I told him all of this and I still have not heard back, I still have a huge charge on my credit card and no receipt. Absolute WORST experience!!!

I have heard about the AVIS , the best , but i am really sorry to say if you do not have stock of cars why you take advance booking . I was standing 2 hour for getting the key how ever i requested many time but they newer had listen . I have very bad experience with AVIS , I am a business man twice a month i come from vancouver first time i took your company. but very very bad experience , you should hire the soft spoken and care taken employ for public dealing . regards. Check-in was perfunctory, no welcome, substitute car. Car does not have navigation activated - unacceptable in a new car. Car not particularly clean. 10d into car hire screen says Maintenance required, take car to Dealer. Avis app (I’m a Preferred member) - no way to email them and ask why? Unfortunately I don’t have telephone connection to ask. Had to ask maintenance question via QEEQ (booking agent). On plus side, the Toyota has run without any issues other than the screen message. Would I use Avis again - it depends.

I showed up after reserving my car and was told there was only a smaller car available. I was told the cost would remain the same despite the car being a small SUV. I cancelled my reservation and immediately went to Avis who gave me a larger SUV at a less price than I even paid originally. I will NEVER be using Budget again.

The car was excellent and in excellent condition, but there were a lot of hidden fees that the company kept silent about. When choosing a car, the price on the website was $68 for two days, with hidden fees they charged $412 for two days. This is not pleasant, the company must inform customers about hidden fees. I will never go to Budget again because I feel cheated.

My arriving flight was delayed by a few minutes. Then, for no obvious reason, we waited 30 minutes to get our checked luggage. I was 15 minutes past the ‘pickup time’ that I had entered on kayak, and the desk was closed. After a frustrating call to the Budget Call Center, I was told the airport location closed at the exact time I had booked the pickup for, and there was nothing they could do for me. A warning when I booked it and/or a call or text before they closed up for the night would’ve saved me a lot of middle-of-the-night frustration at the airport.

Tanvir was very helpful at drop off. Had a small issue with wheel imbalance during our rental and Tanvir offered a discomfort to compensate for our trouble which was very generous. Will use Dollar again.

Have only used Hertz one other time before this trip, probably because their rates are typically higher than the more budget minded rental car companies, but my two experiences now with Hertz have taught me that you get what you pay for. Hertz was a case in point.

They where able to change my reservation for a bigger vehicle without problems. The only issue we had is that they wouldn't accept my visa debit card. Luckily I had my back up credit card with me, even though it was an emergency and I was stuck at the airport. If my credit card wouldn't work I would have not been able to pay with any other form of legal tender, no matter how much deposit you could provide. Otherwise good service

Extremely long wait time to get the car. After completing paperwork only I was informed the car is not ready, and it will take about 20 min. After waiting 40 min, I was offered a different car, but the payment was increasing, due to different insurance (LDW) rate. I did not accept the increase, so I was to wait some more. Finally, after 1 hour I received the car. I arrived at the rental location exactly when I booked the car, Hertz could have been ready at that time too. By the was, I was not the only one. Almost everyone had to wait for their cars.

Chaotic pickup where I surprisingly had to provide proof of insurance, sign different documents every couple minutes, and wait for the employees to prepare the vehicle—things that should have been done in advance. Scammy. They tried to claim previous damage to the vehicle was my fault—that I chipped the windshield. They wanted to charge me $700. When I disputed it and said I had photos of the vehicle, they reversed their decision. Avoid this company.

On Kayak's website, it stated that the rental car came with unlimited mileage. However, when I arrived to pick up the car, I was informed that there was actually a limit and I would have to pay extra for every kilometer over that limit. The rental location was in disarray, with a dirty floor and overflowing garbage. Despite standing there for a while, no one approached me to assist with my reservation until I had to ask for help. I did not proceed with the reservation and let’s say this would be my last time booking or trusting kayak or that rental company.

Overall: if you have time and patience, it might be worth it. But, be aware that you are sacrificing efficiency for those savings. If your time is money, recommend finding another option. Professionalism: The staff were incredibly overworked but also did not move with a sense of urgency. Customer Experience: Lineup of customers looking to drop off keys and pick up their rental were combined. It took 45 minutes before getting service. Cleanliness: The location was incredibly messy. Value for Money: the price is ok, as long as you have your own insurance (they will upsell you). (The Routes franchise would likely be very concerned by the overall experience at this location, not great for the brand)

Pickup was very poor. The staff at the front desk were very nice and professional. The problems began when selecting and picking up the car. We were asked to check the condition of a black car in an closed garage with poor lighting. Next to impossible. Then you have to show the problems to an agent who has some sort of screen to look further. About a dozen people were all leaving at once and so it took the better part of an hour from being shown the car to actually leaving the airport. Once we got it out into the light it was obvious we had missed a scratch. Upon dropping off, the process was very fast. However I wasn't given a receipt, and the one promised to my email never came. So now I have to chase it down. The car itself was otherwise fine, and was problem free.

The National Car Rental staff at the YYC (Calgary) were super efficient and helpful. We got a brand new Chrysler Pacifica. The car itself was excellent. The gas tank was only three-quarters full, however. We noted that as we were exiting. The lady at the exit was kind enough to mark it as only half full. The drop off was also great, with super friendly staff upon arrival. We very much recommend National Car Rental at YYC.

Full size SUV is not a ford edge similar to high lander. Car was not clean when picked up and we had to identify multiple scratches and dents not included on the form so with no attendant outside we had to walk back inside to the rental counter to add them to the form before leaving (extra 20 min process)

They called me when I was on my way and had no cars. The address featured on the site was also incorrect. This was extremely frustrating and ruined my trip, Driving Force should not be on Kayak because all the information is wrong and they blamed me for it instead of taking accountability for their online information being wrong. They were kind on the phone but still, this is unacceptable

My flight got delayed and the company was closed by the time I landed. They were closed the next day and all weekend. Never got my rental and had to Uber all weekend.

STAY AWAY!!! The car was advertised with unlimited miles when booking. At the rental station they said that they have their own policy and only allow 200km/day. Even after opening a claim that was not changed. Additionally, very slow pickup process and every person that was with me at the rental station in Calgary had either issues with the KM, out of province policy or insurance policy. TOTAL RIP OFF

I must have phoned the number at the airport, the 1-888 number and gone on the website to cancel the reservation 10 times. The phone numbers were useless, nobody ever picked up and the online took multiple tries to get a confirmation cancellation, I finally went to another company and would not ever try the company again.

Pros:

The actual car was nice

Cons:

The car reaked of the guys cologne, it was also dirty when he gave it to us. The guy was not very friendly and when he dropped us off back at the airport, I had asked him if he could drop us near the taxi section and he dropped us off in a dead zone of the airport really far from the taxis with all our luggage and skis...

There was not an airport shuttle as advertised. Just a car that could not fit everyone at once. Also there was a mandatory insurance charge added at the pickup that was not disclosed by kayak. Then a mileage fee that was also not disclosed previously. I ended up paying $100 more to ace than what was advertised on kayak for only a 2 day rental. Id have never booked through kayak if I knew that would be the case and i wont be doing it again.

My first time renting a car through kayak. Terrible experience. - ace is not located at the airport despite description - had to call and wait for 20 min for shuttle pick up - no greeting by driver - pick up location in middle of nowhere - held 500.00 on my cc - needed my personal vehicle license plate number - I will never use this rental company again.
