Just know you MUST have a CREDIT card for renting from Enterprise if you wish to rent an 8 seat or more. What is strange is the 7 seated suburban is literally the exact same vehicle as an 8 seat suburban minus a seat, but Enterprise calls it a "premium" vehicle for the extra seat. I can understand the 12 or more seated vehicles being a "premium" vehicle. What about mini vans that seat 8, why is that not "premium"?

Premium SUV

Between Kayak and Enterprise, it needs to be more clear that renting an 8 seat or more vehicle needs a credit card. We were not even able to rent the vehicle because according to Enterprise, in order to rent an 8 seat suburban a credit card is needed. I was able to secure our rental online with debit card only no problems and it was stated to use the same card upon pick up as I did with booking. Unfortunately, this was not the case. If I can book with a debit card for an 8 seat or more than I should be able to pay with the same debit card, otherwise make it more clear when checking out or do not allow it. The first 4 numbers are different for a credit vs debit card so a computer can easily make the distinction upon online booking. This caused unnecessary frustration and unfortunately no vehicle rental from us as we do not own credit cards, we pay with cash or debit card. PLEASE, make this clear upon online booking or at the very least make it clear that a CREDIT card must be used when checking out a larger 8 seat vehicle; this was found only in the small print FAQ later.

Hertz rental agent was not wearing a mask even though he works inside the airport! Car rental process was quick, but I would not recommend them since they don’t follow masking requirements.

Pros:

This should have been very easy. It is a small town and usually courteous and friendly.

Cons:

Due to bad weather I had to re-route my trip from Minneapolis to Omaha. I was travelling to SD for a funeral. Sadly when I tried to get online at the airport for a car at the airport it only showed availability for the city. Computers rule! counter at airport was not helpful. I had to call to get help. Then when I got to Sioux Falls because I had to rent a one way drop off they made me drive back to Sioux Falls one day later to switch cars. It seemed like they could have given my car for Monday to the one-way and just let me keep the car that I came from Omaha in. It was all a big mess!!

The moron at the budget counter ran my card twice without telling me, which led to it being declined twice for fraud detection. He didn’t allow me to talk to my bank and tell them that i was traveling before running the card a second time, which resulted in me not getting a car at all. It was midnight and all other car rental places were closed at that point. I then had to uber and hitchhike to my friends wedding. A disaster. Never using budget again.
