Vehicle Condition: The car I was provided had an overpowering smell of cigarettes and marijuana. This made the driving experience extremely unpleasant and concerning for someone who values a clean and comfortable environment. 2. Maintenance Issue: The check oil light was on from the moment I picked up the vehicle. This not only caused anxiety about the car’s reliability but also reflected poorly on the vehicle’s maintenance standards. 3. Price Discrepancy: I was initially quoted $263 for the rental. However, upon picking up the car, I was informed that the total cost had inexplicably risen to $580. This significant price increase was neither explained nor justified, and it feels like a clear breach of trust.Reviewed Jun 25 2024

The Nissan Rogue is a keeper. When traveling cross country from NY to MN, I hit a patch of rough winter weather. This vehicle performed beautifully and the Rochester Hertz gave it to me as an upgrade; so thankful for that. The one recommendation to Hertz that I would make: in addition to providing the street address for the Hertz counter associated with both pick-up and drop-off, provide the customer with additional information such as "at the airport, inside the terminal, near arrivals." Despite possessing an intimate familiarity with the MN location, I had difficulty locating the counter.Reviewed Dec 11 2021

Pros:Clean vehicle.Cons:The car we were given had an expired inspection sticker. It was also difficult to pick up. Location did not answer 4 phone calls and ended up taking an hour to find their desk.Reviewed May 17 2021

Pros:Friendly fast staff. Car was great except for one glaring issue that wasn’t the car’s fault, see below.Cons:Someone smoked a carton of cigarettes in this car and attempted to cover it up with Axe Body Spray. I learned of this when I started my seven hour trip to DC. I coughed and sneezed for the first hour until the cilia in my throat, mouth, and nose got enough of a coating to stop reacting. My face acquired a greasy film that required vigorous washing upon my arrival in DC. The car was awesome, but that smoke was terrible.Reviewed May 16 2021

Pros:The staff was okay.Cons:The vehicle was very dirty - dog hair, grass, and crumbs all over. It also didn’t look as if the tank was completely full. I didn’t see the condition of the car in the dark parking garage. When I got home to pack the car - in a big hurry to get on the road - I saw the state of the vehicle. I didn’t have time to clean it before packing it to leave. It was really disappointing. I took pictures of the interior and exterior (dry bugs all over windshield) - and also a picture of the gas level. I busy moving my daughter out of state and haven’t had time to contact Hertz yet. Will likely not use Hertz again in the future.Reviewed May 1 2021

Pros:Staff at pick up was easy and very friendly.Cons:The drop off on the locations off day could be better. The key drop off was a slot in the door with no cover and I could see all other keys dropped off. Anyone could have used a hanger or long item to grab any set of keys to take a return rental. Need to make it so you can’t see in with a sleeve not letting anything to be removed once put in.Reviewed Sep 13 2020
