Everything was super easy. We had a tire blowout on a back road. Took a bit t find us, but Dave the repair man was very nice. We followed him to the tire shop. They replaced it, and getting reimbursed at the Payless counter was simple.

Service at Shannon airport was excellent. It wasn't clear to us were renting a car without A/C, a useful feature for the heatwave we encountered. Mr. Cooney was as helpful as they come.

Pick up was extremely slow. Other companies served 2 customers to Sixt one. The problem seemed to be regarding insurance provided by credit card companies. I used a Chase issued card and was told that I must contact Chase and have them email a letter to confirm that they would provide coverage. I had never experienced anything like this and had to spend time on vacation dealing with it from Another country. They should make it clear at the time of reservations that this is necessary!

We did not have a good experience with Sixt. We had just come from Scotland where we rented with Arnold Clark and the contrast was notable to say the least. I feel badly for the guys that work at sixt - they were forced to deal with angry customers constantly for all of the hidden charges and fees that the company requires. Sixt charges a lower rate up front but when you get there, they need a written letter from your credit card company that your credit card covers car insurance in Ireland - what?! Why was that not something they told me 6 months prior when I booked the rental. So then we sat there on the phone with capital one for 20 min; only to find out that we were not covered so therefore required to buy their insurance. Then we were not allowed to switch the driver to my fiancé (I booked the car but he was going to drive) without adding him and paying an additional 25 euro a day. So we ended up essentially paying $200 in insurance and adding a driver which really seemed unnecessary. Overall it felt like such a dishonest experience. Lots of fine print and hidden fees that made it more expensive and more frustrating than just paying up front more and having a smooth experience. If you’re going to go with sixt- do your homework ahead. Make sure the driver is the one booking the car, that your credit card has insurance for the country, and have a written letter from them resdy to go. And be ready to be frustrated. Apologies to the kind man that helped us - it wasn’t his fault the company has terrible policies he has to enforce.

The only issue I had was that there was no mention of Third party insurance, the options or the cost of it until I was picking up the car in Shannon. I was a little blind sided by the amounts quoted at the counter. This should be part of the booking process. Also with returning the car, we should have been given better instructions on where to leave it. I assumed to leave it at the Sixt return location, as done in all other car rental returns, but when there, they told me to leave it in temporary parking lot. not a big deal, but took extra time. All else was great !!

The first car a Yaris hybrid: in three successive days the battery lost power to start on the first two days. On the third day the brake did not disengage and he pre-collusion device fail (according to a rental company empoyee. I lost four days of salmon fishing in Ireland. I had to drive 2 hours to Knock airport west to exchange for a new car. When I returned the latter I was charged for 5 areas of damage on it which had already been delineated the the second rental agreement I had ben given. What a disaster ! Not worth my time and money. Your Є2K deposit is unnecessary and a way to force people to buy the expensive insurance. Also, you took Є2,200 instead of actually Є2K. I also extended the day to return the car on and it was literally half the price of the previous 6 days. Disgusting.

We had booked a 7 seater for a certain price and when we arrived they added on 150% in cost on all kinds of fees. We also booked a 7 seater and they only had a 5 seater which made the week very uncomfortable with bags on laps and they didn't offer any help.

Even though they were not located at the airport, there was a shuttle that picked me up within minutes, supplied me with an upgrade at a cost much lower than other companies. The return process was also seamless, no lines, quick processing and dropped off at the airport within minutes.

We were told at pick up that cars could be left at the hotel at the airport. But when I spoke to the team the day before drop off they said this was not possible and that we would need to bring the car to the rental office location. They also said they would be open at 6. However on the day the first employee showed up at 610. To be fair to him he brought us straight to the airport in the vehicle so we did not have to transfer luggage across and he was very pleasant and helpful when he arrived.

Flight was cancelled by United and car cannot be held or paid for over the phone. Car rental said contact Kayak and Kayak said contact car rental. Easirent finally fixed it so we had a car for our month long visit. Would’ve been disastrous otherwise. Thanks Paddy and James!!

My reservation (through Kayak) did not have the vender phone number printed so upon arrival to Shannon airport I couldn’t contact them for pickup, wasted a taxi fee to get to off site location. Is that Kayak or Easirent? The car was great, with navigation system, which was of value throughout trip. Return of car & shuttle to airport was trouble free.

Returning the car was great - the rep was very helpful. And the car worked well. However, when picking up the car, we were hit with an unexpected 10 euro per day charge since I was providing my own insurance. At no point was this charged identified or explained during my booking on Kayak. This doubled the price of the rental. The rep when we picked up the car said the charge was mandatory. I felt swindled since this was a total surprise.

I liked my rental car in Shannon, Ireland. I felt some dishonesty at the time of completing the contract. I asked for upgrades such as insurance, automatic transmission, glass and theft coverage. The sales rep advised all the upgrades were available but because their computers were “offline” he couldn’t offer a firm price. Another customer in line told me he has seen this technique with your company in the past. This may cause me to book elsewhere in the future.
