The experience with Enterprise at Billy Bishop was excellent overall. The only gripe I had was that there was only one staff member on duty managing two separate desks (inside and outside), and therefore the wait time was extended as the front facing desk was not staffed on arrival.

Intermediate SUV

Pick up location was the only one available at Terminal Billy Bishop though I would have liked it to be in the city. "Change Engine Oil" sign was lit at pick up. Rates could have been better. Overall the car was clean, performing and comfortable. Up to my expectations. The drop off experience was excellent and very convenient.

I'm not sure if this is an opportunity for improvement for Hertz, or for Kayak/Priceline, but I was charged more than the advertised price and what was sent to me in my confirmation email I was charged considerably more when picking up the vehicle, 45% more in fact. That was a disappointing surprise. I won't be renting vehicles from Kayak in the future, I'd rather call the rental company directly and find out what the true price is. It's a bit more work, but saving 45% is worth it.

The staff and service at Hertz at Billy Bishop is fantastic. Very helpful and friendly! The added step of taking a ferry is the only reason I couldn’t give the best rating, as it does add extra time to obtaining the rental, but it isn’t difficult - just make sure to factor it in.

Arrived at 8 am for a booked pick up at 830 am No other customer in the place and Hertz employee refused to serve me until 830 am Made me wait outside the doors while she stood behind the counter Said there were 3 customers who had 8 am pick ups that were ahead of me. No other customer showed up while I waited until 830. Unbelievable. Such poor customer service

No chairs in the rental office. You have to stand up while waiting for the only employee to get to you (and it could be a long wait). No modern credit card machine so I had to be in contact with my credit card provider in order to authorize the deal. No way to buy CDW online (I got an email saying the order was confirmed, but was unable to find it using the thrifty website). I rented a car from the exact same location 2 years ago and had the exact same issues. It seems that nothing had changed since. The car itself was excellent, but the headache around the order was a letdown.
