There was confusion , possibly my lack of understanding on how these work. My confirmation said date of pickup and 12 pm. Then it said fate of drop off 12pm I incorrectly assumed this was a predesignated time to pick up. I was wrong in that this time was time of closure. Very frustrating. Did say this anywhere time of closure. Maybe this needs to be clearer for those of us who don’t use these sites on a regular basis.2.0 Poor

After our excellent experience at this rental agency, we will continue to book here whenever we fly in to Ontario airport. In addition to providing efficient and professional customer service, the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The car was clean and well-maintained. Rental cost was considerably cheaper than the on Airport location. I will definitely recommend the staff to my family and friends. Very pleased with the complimentary drop-off service back to the airport after returning the car.Cons:
I booked at this agency thinking it was on Airport. However, It’s only 2 miles away and once we got there, the level of customer service and friendliness of the staff was totally worth the minor inconvenience. I did not like it at all. It was a fiasco. The staff seemed to be helpful, but then again they were not. I rented a car at the Ontario airport, or so I thought, because that was the location I put in my search, and that is the location that came up. It turned out that the actual rental lot was some 2+ miles from the airport rental location, with NO shuttle bus service. The lady at Ontario was able to assign me a car out of the airport lot, but told me that she could not modify the return location. I would have to return the car to the Jurupa location, or I pay another $70 something dollars. Once I dropped the car at the Jurupa lot, I would then have to hire a taxi or another cab to get to the airport itself, since there is no public transportation or shuttle between the two places--so why did I not just pay for the $70 difference? the lady told me at the counter. After I picked up a car at the airport, I drove to the Jurupa street lot, talked to the other staff person there, he typed something in the computer and said that he had modified my reservation: I could return the car to the airport lot, and told me that my fee was waived. But that was not so. When I returned the car to the airport lot today, there was no trace of the change of reservation and no waiving of the fees.Cons:
The first car I was assigned had only half the plate--the other half was broken off--and the front seat was stuck in the most forward position, so the passenger's legs would not fit. The second car--an intermediate--was just passable, had 50,000 miles on it, and no floormats.Thrifty

The manager at the chino hills location for Avis was a big help. Otherwise the service was horrible and I will never use Avis again. I will use them as an example of bait and switch.Cons:
Almost everything. Avis is horrible. Thanks to Kayak for providing a good option. I would not take the insurance again as it does not cover the entire replacement cost of the vehicle. Lesson learned to take your insirance option. Slick marketing though.10.0 Wonderful

Through KAYAK I was quoted "Unlimited Miles," however when I arrived to pick up the van, I was told that there was a 375 mi/day limit and that I would be charged $.45 for every additional mile. Apparently, there is a discrepancy between what KAYAK quotes and what AVR quotes - and the customer is responsible for uncovering that discrepancy. The address that I was given by KAYAK to pick-up the vehicle was incorrect... closed due to COVID-19. Luckily, there was someone at that closed location who was able to direct me to the proper address (which was only 2 miles away). The van was clean... sort of. There was a noticeable amount of sand in the carpets from the previous users who, most likely, went to the beach. In light of COVID-19, I was told that all the surfaces were sprayed with Lysol.2.8 Poor

The first van I picked up failed to start after I brought home and packed the van with my luggage. It took me about 30 minutes to reach someone to report the issue. I had to drive back to the location and exchanged out for another van. The overall experience was a bit frustrating.2.0 Poor

When we went to pick up our van, no one was on property. My husband called the number provided. When a lady answered she stated they had no vans available and all reservations had been cancelled. She stated everyone was contacted the day before. I can assure you NOONE from any company contacted us to cancel our reservation. This was for our daughters ‘drive thru’ graduation so we could take our family to see her graduate. This company ruined that experience for her and our family. We spent the entire morning scrambling to find another van, ending up spending 400x the money. Our attorney is contacting this company. What a horrible experience. I would NEVER recommend such an unscrupulous business!Cons:

I wasn’t charged, luckily, when they did not provide the service. This was helpful because I was actually worried they would still try to charge me but the customer service person was nice and helpful.Cons:
I was not informed that at ONT you do not go to the “Rental Car” area for ACE. You have to call a number to get picked up. It took me 30 min to get to the rental car area, wasted time. And after finding out I could not get through to customer service at all—was only re-routed through automated voice prompts. Finally I had to give up and rent a different car. Seems like an email after booking would have cleared up 100% of this. Again, I am thankful they were very pleasant on the phone the next day and did not charge me.One location in Ontario
